West Fork Road (Co Rd 648) is a trail groomed by the Pagosa Nordic Club. Check their WEB site for updates on grooming.
This is a popular Pagosa area Nordic trail because of its ease of access off Hwy 160 (see Google map at right) and the fact that it is fairly flat and scenic.
If you ski to the end of the road, you will cover about 5.5 miles in and out. The road is visible on the Google map and is attached (below) as a TOPO! map. There is some climbing the last half mile if that's what you are looking for. Otherwise turn around at the second bridge.
Note: In the winter of 2010/2011 an additional loop was added. Note the lollipop loop on the trail at the right south of the campground loop. Access this loop by turning left just after the second bridge.
You should be able to zoom in and out and manipulate the above Google map to find directions.
